Map Licenses and Attribution

Parkkiin uses map tiles and map data based on open mapping projects. This page explains where the basemap and map data come from and where to find their license information.

OpenFreeMap

Parkkiin uses an OpenFreeMap MapLibre-compatible map style and vector tiles for the basemap. The current style is OpenFreeMap Liberty.

OpenMapTiles

The vector tile schema and part of the cartographic structure are based on the OpenMapTiles project. OpenFreeMap's attribution includes the credit © OpenMapTiles.

OpenStreetMap

The map data and the parking and charging locations shown in Parkkiin are based on open data maintained by the OpenStreetMap community. OpenStreetMap data is licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL).

OpenStreetMap copyright and license information: openstreetmap.org/copyright.

Searches for businesses, places and addresses use Nominatim place search, based on OpenStreetMap data.

Map data can change and open data may contain gaps. Always check parking rules, traffic signs, fees and time limits on site.

FOSSGIS routing service

Driving and walking metrics are calculated with the FOSSGIS-hosted OSRM routing service and OpenStreetMap data. Route origins and destinations are sent to the service for calculation.

Fintraffic Parking

When official parking data is enabled, some parking information is supplied by Fintraffic Parking. The data is available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).
